Woman sues Equifax and Wins $18.6M for Credit Report Errors

Julie Miller, of Marion County, Ore., trouble began in 2009 when she was denied credit from Huybbard Bank based on her Equifax credit report. She requested and eventually received a copy of her report, and she found out that her Equifax credit report contained false information when she was denied credit by multiple banks.

Miller said she contacted the company eight times over two years in an attempt to correct false information about her Social Security number, birth date and collection accounts. At one point, Equifax told her that her account had accidentally been mixed with another individual.

After multiple years of trying to resolve the dispute, Miller took Equifax to court in 2011. On Friday, a jury ordered Equifax to pay Miller $18.6 million which is one of the largest financial victories for consumer complaints against credit companies.

Miller's lawyer, Justin Baxter, told ABC News that the jury was sympathetic to the multiple ways that bad credit had impacted her life. In one instance, Miller couldn't obtain credit for her disabled brother.

He also said that Equifax's failure to protect Miller's personal account information constituted a breach of privacy that could have influenced the jury.

Lea Michele 26, is grieving the sudden death of her boyfriend ("Glee" co-star), Cory Monteith 31.

"We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time," Michele's representative said in a statement.

Lea supported Cory when he voluntarily entered a rehab program for substance abuse in late March. When Cory finished treatment, the couple was seen grinning and holding hands at Los Angeles International Airport before heading off on vacation together.

Rapper overdose: Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly died of drug overdose

Rapper Chris Kelly of Kris Kross has died of drug overdose, a toxicology report confirmed. He passed away  May 1, after taking a lethal mixture of drugs at his Atlanta home, his mother told authorities.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the screening found a fatal mixture of drugs in his system, reported by TMZ.


Kelly, 34, was found dead May 1 at his Atlanta home. His mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, told authorities that the rapper had a history of drug abuse and had experienced episodes in the past, according to the police report filed at the time.

Miley Cyrus Threatens Dad

 Monday night, Miley sent out a tweet to her dad Billy Ray, that sounds a little bit threatening. Now the father-daughter feud has become public. Included in the tweet is a photo of Miley with a woman who has been identified as stage actress Dylis Croman. Dylis and Billy Ray starred together in a revival of Chicago that ran on Broadway last winter.

Tabloids are speculating that Miley tweeted the photo because Dylis and Billy Ray had an affair. The tweet was deleted minutes later and Miley blame it on a technical glitch:

Blake Shelton Celebrates Birthday with Wife Miranda Lambert

The Voice Coach Blake Shelton celebrate his birthday with a win as his contestant Danielle Bradbery was crowned the NBC reality hit's season four winner on Tuesday night. But that's not all, Adam Levine, Shakira and host Carson Daly surprises Blake with a big surprise backstage, his wife country superstar Miranda Lambert.

Blake was in a party mood when he was interviewed by E, "I've had a couple of drinks as the nights gone on," he said. "I've been drinking tonight on national television, even as I do this interview, I just took a big drink of a drink...it's my birthday and I'll be damned if I don't deserve it!"

He also addressed rumors about his marriage with Miranda Lambert, saying his wife being there "is the ultimate gift," adding, "No matter what you might read, she and I are together constantly and it makes my life that much better!"

As for his other gifts from fellow judge? Aside from the cake she presented to Blake during the two-hour finale, Shakira got her fellow coach "a nice bottle of wine and I got him some pink binoculars so he can explore his feminine side. For his farm, you know!" While Carson wouldn't reveal what he got Blake for his birthday, he told us it was "somehing special" for the bar the coach had built in his home and that it cost him "a small fortune."
